I gotta admit, the new Amazon Kindle looks pretty cool, but I'm a little wary of Amazon getting into the hardware game. Its pricey too - $400 is it?
The best thing about the kindle, in my opinion, is the battery life. This is achieved through the use of e-ink - that fancy electronic paper which was born in MIT and been in development for what seems like eons. I first learned about e-ink years ago when evaluating options for dynamic signs and posters (see my thoughts on the subject at Merchandising Manager).
